Sometimes

How often do we put things off? As children we have hopes and dreams, plans in the making, then somehow along the way and as we enter adulthood we very often get into “comfort mode”.

Very often we retreat to a place where we feel safe, we cocoon ourselves and think to ourselves, I’m doing okay, I work hard, I am happy with my lot, so is there a need to strive even further.

Then before we know it, we reach a certain age, and we realise that whilst we have been working hard and taking care of day to day life, we have missed out on our hopes and dreams that we imagined when we were children.

How many of us remember what we wanted to be when we grew up?

Do you remember how imagination took us to a place of wonder and upliftment?

Do you remember how your elders would say “That child has a vivid imagination”, or they may have said “That child lives in their own little world”?

How many of us feel that we have missed out on certain opportunities? Did we somehow learn to conform to someone else’s idea of what we should do with our life?

We may have said “I will do that later”, or “I wish I could do that” or “I don’t believe in myself enough”.

Sometimes we may stop and think and wish we had booked that holiday, sometimes we may doubt ourselves too much, sometimes we wish we had picked up the phone and made amends with a friend or family member.

So rather than sometimes regretting not doing what you really want to do, why not make today the day that you take up a hobby of some kind, make today that you pick up the phone to make amends with a friend or family member that you may not have spoken to in a long time.

Life is for living, life is for enjoying, life can be a battle, life can be amazing, life can be a struggle, and life can be a worry.

Learn to embrace life, learn to embrace others who may have a different mind-set than your own. Try to find common ground to make peace with others that you may have fallen out with.

Life can be complex, life can be tricky, but learn to love and believe in yourself, for you are special, and you are important. Remember above all that LIFE is amazing, LIFE is wonderful and much more.
