Seasons of Spirituality

The spring brings new life and hope. We smell the dew on the grass, we see the days beginning to get brighter and the daytime hours get longer. The newness and freshness of new life fills our soul with joy and happiness. The spring brings promise, we see our friends and neighbours getting out and about more, visiting their friends and family. How pleasing it is to shake off the winter blues that we sometimes feel by being indoors for the majority of the winter. Embrace spring and embrace your spirituality by doing the things you love to do.

The summer brings the warmth of the rays of the sun onto our skin. We put on our ‘summer clothes’ and we tend to feel more relaxed and happy that the sun shows its face and we can open our windows and breathe in the fresh air. The sky in the daytime is blue and the sun warms our surroundings and our hearts. The long days of summer lead into the slightly cooler evenings, the stars shine brightly in the sky and we may sit out on the patio sharing a cool drink with our loved ones and feel the feeling of complete and utter bliss. Embrace summer and embrace your spirituality by doing the things you love to do.

The autumn brings gentle autumn rain and occasionally some frosty mornings. We may choose to go out for walks and hear the crunching sound of the autumn leaves under our feet. The colours of the leaves on the trees are a sight to behold, hues of orange and gold surround us and the days begin to draw in bit by bit. We light candles to feel the sense of light and warmth of the autumn hues. Embrace autumn and embrace your spirituality by doing the things you love to do.

The winter brings shorter days and longer nights. The days get chillier by the day, we begin to prepare for Christmas and family get-togethers. We buy food and begin to make preparations for the Christmas festivities. We put on our central heating or light a fire in our homes to feel warmth and cosiness. We gather around the TV to maybe watch a film or two. We invite our family and friends over to have a chat and enjoy their company. If it snows we can build a snowman and have snowball fights. We can walk in the snow and see the sunlight sparkle and glisten as it shines upon the fresh snow. Embrace winter and embrace your spirituality by doing the things you love to do.
